Comlongon Castle Wedding | Mr & Mrs Pattinson 5th Sep 2015
Michael & Kari’ Pattinson’s Wedding Day is one I will definitely remember for a very long time to come. I am a firm believer in fate, I think sometimes things in life are out of your control and you are along for the journey. None more so than meeting that special someone. Michael from Gretna was on a motorbike holiday with his family in Dublin where he happened to meet a lovely girl by the name of Kari who was travelling from California and as they say ‘the rest is history’.
They had an amazing day of Sunshine in September to be wed at Comlongon Castle in front of friends and family. Kari’s Parents, her sister Summer & her Maid of Honour Tina all came across from California so that they could all be at her wedding. They had a beautiful ceremony surrounded by their close friends & family in the ruins at the back of the Castle.
Although the Comlongon Castle Wedding felt very Scottish Kari & Michael incorporated a lot of great American traditions into the day to give everyone attending a taste of how they do things stateside. For one a very beautiful and heart felt emotional speech by Kari’s father Stan brought a tear to everyone including the moment Stan presented Michael with an image of Kari when she was younger with a request to ‘take care of my little girl’, a promise Michael vows to keep.
Kari also wanted to make sure everyone got to sample some fantastic American Sweets so she created beautiful centrepieces for all the tables were full of proper American Candy. Michael had one final surprise to escort Kari & Himself from The Comlongon Castle Wedding Venue to the night-time venue Corner House in Annan. He rented a beautiful 58’ Cadillac complete with chauffeur to take them down the scenic road that runs along the Solway Firth against the beautiful Autumnal glowing setting sun.
Their day was filled with so many emotions from laughter to tears, all in a beautiful setting I would like to thank them both for inviting me along to capture their big day and wish they all the happiness in the world!
